Hardware platform

Every VPS runs on dual-socket Intel Xeon E5-26xx v4 (Broadwell-EP) hosts with DDR4 ECC memory and enterprise NVMe storage. vCPUs are pinned to dedicated cores on Growth plans and above, so you never share a thread with a noisy neighbour.

Network and uplinks

1 Gbps port as standard, with our own ASN, our own IPv4 and IPv6 ranges, and a private 10G backbone between Tallinn and Amsterdam. Direct AMS-IX peering and multiple Tier 1 transit providers keep latency low across Europe.

Virtualization and isolation

KVM-based virtualization with full hardware isolation. Each VPS gets its own kernel, its own network stack and dedicated I/O queues. You can run Docker, nested KVM, WireGuard and any kernel module you need.

Provisioning and migrations

New VPS are provisioned in under 30 minutes. Migrations from another provider (cPanel, Plesk, raw Linux, Docker stacks) are included free of charge, performed by our engineers with zero or near-zero downtime.

Monitoring and SLA

Compliance and sovereignty

Common questions

What does "fully managed" actually include?

OS installation and hardening, security patches, web/database server configuration, performance tuning, monitoring, backups, incident response and migration assistance. If it runs on the server, we look after it.

Can I still get root access?

Absolutely. You stay in full control. We co-manage with your team, or take everything off your plate. Your call.

Where are the VPS hosted?

Tier III data centers in Tallinn (Estonia) and Amsterdam (Netherlands). You pick the location at checkout. Data never leaves the EU.

Is my data exposed to US law (CLOUD Act, FISA 702)?

No. Hostander is EU-owned, EU-operated and runs on its own hardware in EU data centers. We are not subject to the US CLOUD Act and we do not use AWS, Google Cloud or Azure underneath.

Do you handle migrations from another provider?

Yes, included free of charge. We move sites, databases and full stacks with zero or near-zero downtime.

Which operating systems do you support?

All major Linux distributions (Ubuntu LTS, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky, openSUSE) and Windows Server 2019/2022. We can also install custom images on request.

How are backups handled?

Daily automated backups are encrypted at rest and stored off-site in a separate facility. Standard retention is 14 days; longer retention and hourly snapshots are available on Growth and Scale plans.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan later?

Yes. Upgrades are typically applied within minutes and require only a brief reboot. Downgrades are scheduled at your next billing cycle so we can validate disk usage first.

What if my VPS gets hit by a DDoS attack?

Our network includes always-on volumetric and application-layer DDoS mitigation at the edge. Most attacks are filtered before they ever reach your server, with no action required from you.

Do you offer monthly or annual billing?

Both. Monthly billing is the default. Annual billing comes with a 2-month discount, and we can issue VAT invoices for EU companies.

Is there a setup fee or long-term contract?

No setup fees and no long-term contracts. You can cancel any time, we'll even help you migrate out if it ever comes to that.
