Hardware platform

Single-tenant dual-socket Intel Xeon E5-26xx v4 (Broadwell-EP) servers, populated with DDR4 ECC registered memory and enterprise NVMe or SATA SSD storage on hardware RAID controllers. Every component, CPU, RAM, drives, NIC, RAID card, is hand-picked, burnt-in and documented before the server enters service.

Network and connectivity

1 Gbps unmetered uplink as standard, upgradable to 10 Gbps. Free 10G private VLANs between your servers, across racks or between Tallinn and Amsterdam. We run our own ASN, our own IPv4 and IPv6 space, with direct AMS-IX peering and multiple Tier 1 transit providers.

Storage and backups

Hardware RAID 1/10 by default with battery-backed cache. Off-site encrypted backups to a separate facility, 14-day retention as standard, longer retention available. Snapshots, replication and disaster recovery designs available on request.

OS, hypervisor and stack

We support every major Linux distribution, Windows Server 2019/2022, Proxmox, VMware, OpenStack and bare Kubernetes. Our engineers install, harden, patch and tune the full stack, including LiteSpeed, Nginx, MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Redis and container platforms.

Provisioning and remote hands

Stock configurations deployed in 24-48 hours. Custom builds with sourced hardware in 5-7 business days. On-site Hostander engineers in both Tallinn and Amsterdam handle reboots, swaps and rebuilds within hours, included on every plan.

Compliance and sovereignty

EU-owned, EU-operated, GDPR-native. Hardware lives in Tier III, ISO 27001 audited facilities in Tallinn and Amsterdam. Hostander is independent of US hyperscalers and is not subject to the US CLOUD Act or FISA 702.

How fast can a dedicated server be deployed?

Stock configurations: 24-48 hours. Custom builds with sourced hardware: typically 5-7 business days, sometimes faster.

Can I bring my own OS or hypervisor?

Yes. We support any Linux distribution, Windows Server, Proxmox, VMware, OpenStack and bare Kubernetes installs, and we'll manage them for you.

What happens if hardware fails?

Our NOC detects failures before you do. Spare components are kept on-site at both locations and we replace failed parts within hours, often without service interruption thanks to RAID and HA designs.

Can I customise the hardware beyond the listed plans?

Absolutely, every dedicated server is essentially custom. Tell us your CPU, RAM, NVMe, GPU, NIC and RAID requirements and we'll source, rack and tune it for you.

Do you offer GPU servers for AI / ML workloads?

Yes. We deploy NVIDIA L4, L40S, A100 and H100 configurations on request, with appropriate cooling and power. Single-GPU and multi-GPU builds are both supported.

How does private networking between servers work?

Every dedicated server can join a free 10G private VLAN. You can connect multiple servers within a rack, across racks, or even between Tallinn and Amsterdam over our private backbone.

What kind of remote hands support do you offer?

Standard remote hands (reboots, cable swaps, KVM access, simple part replacements) is included. Complex interventions like rebuilds or hardware migrations are scheduled with a senior engineer, usually within hours.

Are dedicated servers fully managed too?

Yes, same model as our VPS. We patch the OS, harden it, run monitoring and backups, and respond to incidents 24/7. You can also opt for unmanaged if you want only the hardware.

What's the contract length and cancellation policy?

Monthly contracts with no minimum term. Annual prepayment unlocks a discount. Cancel any time with 30 days' notice, we'll help offboard your data.

Is the hardware sourced and hosted in Europe?

Yes. All servers are racked in the Tier III data centers we use in Tallinn and Amsterdam, and operated by EU staff under EU jurisdiction. Hostander is independent of US hyperscalers, no AWS, Google Cloud or Azure under the hood.
