What does "managed hosting" actually mean at Hostander?
We take responsibility for everything that runs on the server: OS installation and hardening, security patches, monitoring, backups, web and database server tuning, and incident response. You bring the application, we run the infrastructure underneath it.
How quickly can I get a server?
Standard managed VPS plans are provisioned within 1, 2 hours. Stock dedicated servers ship in 24, 48 hours. Custom hardware builds and colocation typically take 3, 7 business days.
Do you help migrate from my current provider?
Yes, included free of charge with every plan. Our engineers move sites, applications, databases and full stacks from any provider with zero or near-zero downtime.
Where exactly is my data hosted?
In one of two Tier III European data centers, Tallinn (Estonia) or Amsterdam (Netherlands). You choose the location at order time. Data never leaves the EU unless you explicitly tell us to move it.
What happens at 3 a.m. if something breaks?
Our 24/7 NOC sees it first. Senior engineers, not first-line scripts, investigate, mitigate and contact you with a status update. For most incidents, you'll wake up to a resolved ticket, not a broken site.
Can I keep root or admin access?
Absolutely. You stay in full control. We co-manage with your in-house team, or take everything off your plate, your call. Either way, you can SSH or RDP in whenever you want.
How does pricing work, are there hidden fees?
No. Listed monthly prices include management, support, monitoring, backups and DDoS protection. The only extras are bandwidth above your fair-use allowance, third-party licenses (e.g. Windows, cPanel) and optional add-ons you explicitly request.
Do you offer SLAs and uptime guarantees?
Yes. All managed services come with a 99.99% uptime SLA backed by service credits. Enterprise customers can negotiate custom SLAs with stricter response and resolution times.
Is Hostander affected by the US CLOUD Act or FISA 702?
No. Hostander is an EU-headquartered company with no US parent, no US subsidiary and no US operations. We are not a covered entity under the CLOUD Act or FISA 702, and we cannot be lawfully compelled to hand over EU customer data to US authorities.
Do you run on AWS, Google Cloud or Azure underneath?
No. We own our hardware and our network, and host them in independent European Tier III data centers in Tallinn and Amsterdam. There is no American hyperscaler in the stack, what you see is what you get: European metal in European facilities.
Are you GDPR compliant and will you sign a DPA?
Yes. Hostander is GDPR-native, built under EU data protection law from day one. We sign a Data Processing Agreement with every customer who needs one, at no extra cost, and our sub-processor list is EU-only.
Where are your backups stored?
Inside the EU, always. Backups from Tallinn are replicated to Amsterdam (and vice versa) over our private European backbone. They never cross EU borders.
